Halbach arrays — maximum field from minimum magnet

A Halbach array is an engineering near-ideal magnet structure designed to produce the strongest possible field from the smallest volume of magnet. Its self-shielding effect concentrates field on the working side and yields an almost perfect sinusoidal air-gap field — ideal for premium wireless-charging modules and robot motor rotors.

  • For frameless torque-motor rotors, Halbach design lifts the magnetic-field peak by about 32% over ordinary multi-pole magnetization, with better energy utilization.
  • Near-perfect sine wave with smooth zero crossing and symmetric peaks — naturally suited to sinusoidal air-gap fields, making commutation cleaner.
  • Simulation results match measured data closely, so solution accuracy can be identified early and first-pass design success is improved.

Sintered SmCo is made from samarium, cobalt, copper, iron and zirconium by powder metallurgy. Structurally it is divided into 2:17 and 1:5 types; by performance it is offered in high-energy-product, low-temperature-coefficient and high-temperature formulations.

Sintered SmCo 1:5

Samarium-cobalt made from Sm, Co, Cu, Fe and Zr via powder metallurgy. Available in 1:5 type — high temperature stability and corrosion resistance for aerospace and precision instruments.

Sintered SmCo 2:17

The 2:17 type supports high-energy-product, low-temperature-coefficient and high-temperature formulations for demanding motor and sensor applications.
